Should a logo have a slogan?
The purpose of a logo slogan is to convey your company’s mission in a way that audiences will remember and identify. In doing so, a slogan helps you spread the word about your products and services and grow your brand’s recognition.
When should you use a tagline?
A tagline can be used to help position your brand in the market and differentiate you from your competitors. An example of this is Avis using the “We Try Harder” tagline. Keep in mind what the competitive landscape is now, and what it might be in the future.
Where do you put a tagline on a logo?
If your slogan is more of a tagline and will fit, place it near the top your page near the logo. A tagline simply states what you do or how you do it in very few words. Think of “Just Do It” from Nike. A slogan can also be more of your value proposition or philosophy and explain the value you bring to the consumer.
What should a tagline be?
A tagline doesn’t need to be overly clever or cute to be effective. A good tagline is primarily functional. It should explain the unique value that your business offers as clearly as possible. Sure, many classic taglines are pretty smart.
